Are you a highly skilled trade professional with experience in boiler workshops and a passion for leadership? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become a Workshop Supervisor for our afternoon shift at Thornton Engineering Australia Pty Ltd.
As the Lead for our Vessel Shop, your expertise in pressure vessel manufacturing will be crucial to our success. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of stick steel and structural steel to our well-known clients, guiding your team in the planning and allocation of resources, and monitoring progress against time, Australian standards, client specifications, and budget.
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years' experience in a boiler workshop and a strong knowledge of Australian Standards for pressure vessel manufacturing. Proficiency in all welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW), knowledge of NDT techniques, leadership and supervision experience, and strong communication and organizational skills are also essential. You must be able to work well under pressure and have a personal drive, initiative, and resourcefulness. Intermediate computer skills for data input and retrieval are also required.
