You will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in the care of RSPCA NSW. This role is predominately focused in the transportation and care of animals within NSW.

About the Role
An essential role instrumental in the collection and transportation of various animals to and from RSPCA NSW facilities including branches covering all of NSW.
Transfer of animals between shelters, pounds, care centres, and other facilities
Collect and transfer injured animals to appropriate facilities
Provide exceptional care to animals while in transit and in the care of RSPCA NSW including appropriate temperature, handling and minimised travel times
Assist with animal rescues and transfers as required
Animal care duties such as feeding, watering, providing enrichment, administering medication, and providing exercise where needed
Observe animals for signs of illness and injury
Delivering donated goods and products to other facilities as required
Liaise with external agencies such a council rangers, veterinarians, and other welfare organisations
Provide general support to shelters and branches where possible
Manage own time effectively, safely and in line with RSPCA policies and procedures
This position is on a full-time basis and will require the successful candidate to work alternating weekends and occasional public holidays.
About You
Certificate II in Animal Studies/Handling/Management
Unrestricted Class C NSW Driver’s License and an exceptional driving record
Certification in animal first aid highly desirable
Previous experience handling animals in a professional environment and with the utmost care
Previous experience in a driving position
Ability to work autonomously and use initiative with good problem solving skills
Able to work as a team player
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with exceptional customer service skills
Strong relationship management skills and a team player
Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling (minimum weight of 20kgs), climb ladders and work in restricted spaces
