YOUR ROLE
Our Network and Security Services Team is looking for a Senior Security Engineer who will relentlessly pursue operational excellence in how we manage our Security Services to ensure they are configured, reliable, performant, and resilient. You will have deep understanding of Zero Trust and the whole stack including networking, cloud , identity, proxy and APIs and you will deeply empathise with our customers both internal and external. You are a pure security practitioner and know how to make security pragmatic and usable. You keep abreast of market trends and know the difference between noise and signal with regards to security. You will have strong opinions and be able to manage your own time and proactively find the best places to focus to improve our security posture.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be: -
Be involved in strategic project work and design security related processes and infrastructure.
Identify opportunities to improve Security Services being provided.
Perform day to day operational changes as well as project work.
Be part of the team on-call roster for out of hours support of incidents impacting Security Services platforms. This may involve attending the Data Centres
Work with third parties to organise work to be done for IAG
Actively contribute ideas, knowledge, and expertise to meet IAG and cyber security objectives.
Monitor, respond to and remediate issues or potential issues with our Security Services technologies.
Collaboratively work with internal stakeholders to maximise understanding and optimise the use of Security Services
Operational management, maintain agreed service levels, implement controls to ensure operational continuity and maintain software currency.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences: -
Extensive experience in an security operations roles and security project delivery in large enterprise preferably FSI
Experience with one or more of the below core technologies is highly regarded.
Zero Trust technologies and concepts
Firewalls – Checkpoint / Forcepoint
Forward Proxies – Netskope /Symantec
Endpoint protection – CrowdStrike
FTP Services
Hand on experience / working knowledge of AWS / networking.
Motivation to maintain and increase technical knowledge.
Tertiary qualification in computing or related fields
General security certifications (CISSP, SANS, ISACA)
Product vendor security certifications (Symantec, Checkpoint)
This is a full time, permanent role that is open to people based in Australia ideally Melbourne or Sydney.
