Chief Financial Officer

True North Copper Limited (ASX:TNC) is a copper and critical minerals mining company. The company’s two major projects are the Cloncurry Copper Project (Cloncurry) and the Mt Oxide Project (140km north of Mt Isa).

We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer based in our Cairns corporate Head Quarters.

Cairns is home to the iconic Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest, the city provides for vibrant restaurants and cafés, bustling markets, and plenty of beaches nearby. Spend your time off exploring this tropical oasis.

The Role:

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will report to the Managing Director and engage with the Board to execute and drive the company strategy, optimise business performance, and increase shareholder value. You will lead the finance team and oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, forecasting, budgets, treasury, tax, investor relations and ASX-compliant financial reporting.

About you:

As a CFO for an ASX-listed copper producer mining company, or a similar metal-based industry, you will have a successful history of leading and managing finance functions of ASX-listed mining company. You have strong leadership and communication skills, and you can build trust and rapport with the Board, the operational teams, and the external investors.

Key responsibilities

The CFO oversees the company’s finance functions and reporting.

Play a pivotal role in financial decision-making that impacts the company and provide strategic financial input to senior management.

Responsible for all financial planning, forecasting, budgets, treasury, and tax matters.

Oversee the preparation of all ASX-compliant financial reporting.

Contract Negotiation and Execution:

Negotiates and executes commercial contracts, such as offtake agreements for mining products and procurement contracts for operations.

Capital Management:

Manages the company’s working capital requirements and is the principal interface to lenders.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensures that the Company complies with all financial statutory reporting requirements set out in the Corporations Law and ASX listing rules and also ensures the Company is fully tax compliant with both Income tax and indirect taxes such as GST.

Investor Relations:

Works alongside the Managing Director in leading investor relations and contributes significantly to the overall business strategy for growth.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborates closely with other senior executives to develop and implement the company’s strategic plans, including financial planning and budget management.

The CFO identifies and manages financial risks to the company, which includes implementing risk management strategies and policies.

Other Senior Management Responsibilities:

The CFO also handles other senior management responsibilities related to finance, such as human resources and legal matters.

Experience in supporting the Company Secretarial function is highly regarded.

You will have:

A current Drivers “C” class license valid in the state of Queensland.

The right to work in Australia.

CA, with 5 years of experience preferably in the resource sector

The ability to undergo a pre-employment medical and D&A screening.
