The Role
As a key member of the Executive team, the Chief Information Officer (‘CIO’) will lead Warrigal’s strategic direction, implementation, and management of IT systems and initiatives.
Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the effective governance of IT. The role will develop an operational framework that mitigates significant risks for Warrigal in the technological space.
The role will leverage technology to consider new and innovative environments in which aged care is placed along with enhancing the quality of care delivered to residents and customers. A critical element of this role is to optimise operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ideally the successful candidate will be based in or near either the Illawarra Shoalhaven or ACT regions, however, consideration will be given to candidates based in Sydney able to commute to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with the overall organisational objectives.
Develop and maintain an IT Governance Framework.
Establish data governance frameworks and standards to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of resident and organisational data.
Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect against and mitigate cyber threats.
Manage relationships with IT vendors and vendor selection for new technology solutions.
Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and software systems.
Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure.
Identify innovative technologies and solutions to modernise service delivery and optimise resource utilisation.
The Person
Key attributes and experience that will need to be demonstrated include:
Values-based leadership skills
Proven CIO experience with an organisation of similar scale and complexity, preferably within the healthcare or aged care sector.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing IT strategies that drive business value and innovation.
Expertise in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital transformation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking approach to technology adoption and innovation.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Resilient and adaptable, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
Passionate about leveraging technology to improve the lives of residents and enhance the delivery of Aged Care services.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
