About the Role
Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join our growing company. You will be responsible for all aspects of tender price estimating / cost planning for the Utilities division.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Melbourne, VIC / Brisbane, QLD
Reporting Line: Estimating and Proposals Manager – Utilities
Key Responsibilities
Primary objective of responding to client requests with accurate Budgetary and Tender pricing.
Tender / Bid Pricing Management:
Develop of high-quality accurate Utility (gas, water, power, network services and industrial) tender prices.
Coordinate pricing workshops across design, engineering and commercial.
Actively contribute, coordinate, and disseminate winning work pricing strategies evolving across the lifecycle of the tender.
Ensure competitive, compelling, and professional submissions are made to the clients meeting tight deadlines.
Identify and coordinate subject matter experts to contribute to the pricing of the tender.
Manage tender governance requirements including risk, and opportunity allowances.
Business Development:
Develop and maintain partnerships with partners (i.e., consultants and key sub-contractors).
Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with new and existing clients to promote brand awareness and profitable business relationships.
Delivery & Governance:
Ensure any business tender pricing and negotiations are undertaken in a way that protects company interests.
Manage estimating budget spending and maintain costs within budget requirements.
Manage customer expectations around Service Stream’s commercial framework.
Periodically check and refresh estimating management plan.
Contribute to and present pricing element of the governance papers for approval decisions.
Support the implementation of business initiatives and strategies into business.
Interact and create opportunities with other business units within Service Stream i.e., Transport Infrastructure, Utilities & Infrastructure, etc.
Increase functional learning and knowledge through coaching and mentoring by way of estimators / Cost Planners.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance Engineering (Utilities, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or other), or a related discipline Experience within the Utilities industry with a known client base. Experience working for a Utilities contractor and or Utilities Infrastructure provider. 5 years Demonstrated experience in Estimating management. Significant experience in commercial management and working with operations groups.
