About the Role
This health service is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of patients and the general community via the ongoing development of a sustainable, high quality and safe health system. Currently, there are a number of initiatives underway focusing on service development within mental health to ensure consumer needs are appropriately met, both now and in the future.
As the successful applicant, you will be working as part of the community based mental health Acute Care Team, delivering person centred, recovery orientated, and trauma informed mental health treatment and care within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
Your responsibilities will include providing clinical leadership and comprehensive general mental health services for the Acute Care Team. Additionally, you will be working in a consultant liaison capacity to other mental health professionals and health service providers, including general practitioners and other agencies to assist with the smooth and effective assessment and management of people who are experiencing acute mental health concerns. You will also be required to participate in the supervision of Psychiatric Registrars, medical students and other medical staff as required and take part in in the afterhours on-call roster.
