Job Description
The Role:
ELA is owner of the Arnhem Space Centre (ASC) a space port south of Nhulunbuy where customers can conduct orbital, sub-orbital launch and testing campaigns for rockets.
As Construction Estimator / Contracts Administrator you will be required to:
Work with Construction Manager, Project engineer, Site Manager
construction estimates and develop budgets
and manage tender packages
of Tender submissions for accuracy, completeness in addressing needed scope of work and value for money
of sub-contracts
administer subcontracts to ensure Scope of Works delivered in line with contract
variations to the contracted SoW, including but not limited to estimating the costs and making sure the value expected is delivered.
the tender pricing: preparing schedule of preliminaries costs, providing up-to-date construction cost advice to identifying risks and opportunities in design and tender documents.
Estimator is also involved in project coordination meetings including status updates, design meetings, and value engineering workshops
Qualifications
About You:
Ideally, the successful applicant will be an estimator or quantity surveyor from the construction industry, with sufficient industry experience to prove capacity of fulfilling this role.
You will possess:
be able to complete bill of quantities accurately and on time
be able to do a job take off from start to finish.
knowledge of estimating principles and systems.
in Construction Management or relevant Engineering discipline.
in Commercial Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Estimating.
years of experience in a similar role ideally with a commercial building construction company with exposure to building of concrete structures, bulk earthworks, civil estimating and contract administration.
using Bluebeam, CostX, Procore, MS Excel, MS Project and MS Office Suite.
negotiation skills based on high level verbal & written communication skills is critical to this role
to detail and accuracy in estimating contract management is what will lead you to be successful in this role.
