ROLE PURPOSE:

WPP IT is undergoing a significant transformation to modernise ways of working, shift to cloud and micro-service-based architectures, drive automation, digitise colleague and client experiences and deliver insight from WPP’s petabytes of data.

As we continue on this journey, we're looking to develop the next generation of technology leaders. You'll be bright, energetic, and be a strategic thinker by nature. You'll lead technology in your arena for Ogilvy AUNZ/TBA, working with senior leaders to establish a forward-thinking and multi-year technology strategy, that drives innovation, differentiation and simplification.

You'll have a similar role in another company or be ready to step up into this role because your experience means you're ready for the challenge of leading a brand in region for the world's largest marketing services organisation.

You'll work with the Local and Regional executive teams within the business and be the voice of technology and their technology partner.

You'll consult, develop and agree the technology strategy for the business, evolve roadmaps and work with the APAC Strategic Business Partner for the Creative Architype, the Ogilvy APAC Business Partner and Creative Product teams to deploy in your line of business.

You'll work with sub-regional and country-based teams to deliver the WPP and Creative technology strategy for these locations of business.

You’ll directly partner with peers in the other regions and Operating Groups in the Creative Architype to combine platforms, solutions and investments.

Where needed, you'll agree the development of unique products, with an eye to them scaling for greater benefit around Australia, Asia and the Pacific region and the creative businesses at large.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads IT Business Partnering within Au/NZ for Ogilvy AUNZ/TBA.

Owns and manages relationships with senior leaders and agency stakeholders, representing Ogilvy AUNZ within WPP IT and vice versa, feeding into the Creative Architype plans and priorities.

Be the strategic touch point for local market leaders in region, to capture and shape business demand for new or changed products and technology services in the agency’s ‘patch’ – ensuring their needs are considered and proposals are shaped, sized, aligned and prioritised and fed into the Creative architype initiatives, focus and direction.

Liaise with the Regional Strategic Business Partner and the Portfolio Lead for the Creative Archetype – and relevant supporting WPP IT functions – to collate, size and align technology demand in support of value-based outcomes, engaging back with stakeholders on WPP IT prioritisation decisions.

Act as a point of escalation and un-blocker for the Ogilvy patch’s business context – supporting IT project delivery, technical decisions, etc. – but re-routing any service or support challenges via the Creative Archetype’s Operations Assurance function or Service Management Leads.

Maintain a lens on the value and commercial impact of both proposals and the reality of WPP IT activity and plans as it relates to Ogilvy AUNZ – working with the APAC Region’s Strategic Business Partner, IT Operations and the Portfolio Lead to ensure transparency of value contribution and IT spend.

Work with stakeholders across Ogilvy AUNZ and WPP IT strategic programmes, to proactively ensure delivery – and to secure the engagement required to realise the value of the Creative Archetype portfolio.

Lead technology for Ogilvy AUNZ/TBA, working with senior leaders to establish a forward-thinking and multi-year technology strategy, that drives innovation, differentiation and simplification.

Develop and maintain a view in Ogilvy AUNZ/TBA of stakeholder alignment; delivery challenges; Agency business risks, strategies and in-flight initiatives – able to engage readily in ongoing planning and roadmap discussions with the Archetype Portfolio Lead, Architecture and strategic programmes.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Stakeholder relationship management and planning capability

Knowledge of change management and business adoption of digital solutions

Demand management – qualifying, shaping & sizing solution concepts, plans

Developing data-driven insights, analysis and strategic advice

Developing portfolio plans, budgeting and investment cases, and value realisation activity

Creative technology knowledge and experience

Portfolio or programme management experience

Experience of developing business or functional strategic plans and roadmaps

Experience of bringing an organisation on a change journey
