Executive Level 2 - Health Security Unit Director The Health Security Unit will provide Australian CDC with leadership in the Australian Government intelligence sector supporting early detection and analysis of health threats to inform prevention, preparedness and response activities. The HSU will work across the interim Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and with other government agencies, drawing on existing technical expertise to inform public health risk assessments, both immediate and longer term. It will also support evidence-based decision-making on public health policy and programs.
As HSU you will make significant contribution to the Australian CDC by:
Undertaking health intelligence analysis, horizon scanning and providing evidence-based advice internally and to relevant external stakeholders.
Engaging with, and harnessing, the expertise of subject matter experts to monitor, identify, analyse, and report on trends and potential public health threats across all information flows.
Developing and maintaining a national public health risk profile for Australia, identifying the threats to public health.
Supporting key interim Australian CDC functions through provision of reports and assessments.
Regularly summarising and reporting on HSU activities across government and to states and territories.
