This role is responsible for providing expert legal advice to the Executive and other staff within Metro North Health, primarily in relation to matters as they pertain to health law and medico-legal claims.
This role is responsible for providing expert legal advice to the Executive and other staff within Metro North Health, primarily in relation to matters as they pertain to health law and medico-legal claims. The role also provides assistance regarding other general legal queries as they pertain to the operation of Metro North Health as a Hospital and Health Service under the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 (Qld).

Demonstrated ability to undertake directly (i.e., without instructing external lawyers) provision of legal advice and assistance in relation to the various matters contained within the Key Accountabilities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively consult, and communicate, with clients and key stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of the Metro North Hospital and Health Service and the Queensland public sector health system generally.
Demonstrated ability to show initiative, adopt a proactive approach, innovate and maintain flexibility.
Demonstrated ability to be a ‘team player' who can work collaboratively with other team members and actively contribute to a healthy team culture.
It is also highly desirable if the applicant has previous experience working with, or within, a public sector health system.
