Aboutthe role and team
We have arare and exciting opportunity for an experienced mid-level lawyerto join our growing Employment team in Sydney.
Our highlyregarded national employment team acts for medium to large nationaland international employers, advising on contentious andnon-contentious employment and industrial relations matters,discrimination, WHS, immigration, and privacy. This role will workclosely with and learn from our experienced team of EmploymentPartners, Special Counsel, Senior Associates andLawyers.
Keyresponsibilities
Thesuccessful candidate will be involved in a variety of mattersincluding:
providing legal supportto Partners on matters relating to employment law andindustrial relation matters;
demonstrating a thoroughunderstanding of complex legal concepts, and creativelyapplying legal knowledge to client situations to providesolutions to problems;
draftinglegal documents, advices and handling multiple matters at anyone time;
maintaining high levelof communication with clients regarding progress ofmatters;
workingas part of talented team on large and complex litigationmatters including restraints litigation, general protections,discrimination and unfair dismissal claims; and
discovery of documentsand preparation of lists of documents.
Skills andexperience
We are keento hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience:
between3-5 years of post-admission experience, specifically inemployment and industrial relation law;
ideallyyour experience will come from a large national orinternational law firm, or a specialist employment lawpractice;
excellent technical,analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention todetail;
theability to organise and prioritise effectively;
a strongcommitment to client service, the ability to manage clientrelationships and a focus on achieving commercial solutions forour clients; and
beproactive and able to work autonomously and as part of acollaborative team.
