About your new role:

Working as a member of the Civil/Structural Engineering team, Civil Projects Construction Supervisors deliver technical construction support/supervision on behalf of EQL through application of well-developed technical and trade capabilities to ensure civil structural assets are constructed and maintained in accordance with project designs, standards and policies.

The Civil Projects Construction Supervisor is the primary point of contact with project construction contractors in regard to technical compliance, site contract management and performance.

The position is focused on the correct, safe, effective and efficient delivery of construction projects while also providing in field civil/structural engineering representation and support.

The opportunities are in Townsville and Hervey Bay.

With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band from starts from $128,196 for 9 days and $144,862 for 10 days. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have extensive civil and structural building knowledge with previous project and contractor management experience.

You must be able to prioritise and manage workloads, providing mentorship, support and guidance to the team in a positive manner.

You must have excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to negotiate and influence in a positive manner.

Critical to your success in this role is your:

Certificate of competency in relevant trade, and appropriate licence.

Qualifications in Civil Engineering would be highly regarded. Registered Builder or Building Supervisor with the Building Services Authority or equivalent (or ability to acquire).

Diploma in Project Management is desirable.

Ability to contribute to project works completion and performance forecasting along with development, management of site works including scheduling and planning of the site-based project resources required to deliver the sequence of works and achieve required time based milestones.

Project administration skills including project performance documentation, quality documentation, safety documentation, effective records management of technical drawings, progress information, site management records, customer interaction information, and authorisation of variations ensuring all are accurate and maintained to an audit-ready standard.
