About The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified lawyerwith the right mix of confidence, vision, experience, skills and drive to help build the business within the exciting and dynamic environment at FTI Consulting.

The EMEA Legal, Risk & Compliance Team enjoys a challenging and varied workload which covers all legal issues arising from the operation of a professional services business. We strive to support the Business strategy by the prompt delivery of pragmatic, adaptable and commercial solutions based legal advice to all levels within the business in EMEA.

What You’ll Do

Develop expertise in FTI’s practice areas and service offerings and build strong relationships with FTI’s client facing professionals

Negotiate, draft and advise internal clients on a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements for each of FTI’s segments, including NDAs and letters of engagement through to multi-jurisdictional MSA and transaction documents

Assist with contractual disputes, including drafting letters of claim and working with external counsel on issuing statutory demands

Support Senior Lawyers in the team (where required) with major commercial transactions, which may include global strategic projects and occasional M&A work

Assist with the maintenance of compliance records for group companies including FCA regulated entities

Provide technical first line advice and support to managers and employees on any basic commercial issues and ensure the advice is in line with legislation and company policy in order to minimise FTI’s risk exposure

Work on a variety of employment matters including drafting settlement agreements, dealing with the legal aspects of employee issues and researching points of law

Assist with the review of client DPAs, coordinate with FTI’s TechOps and InfoSec teams and liaise with the data protection officer

Support the maintenance of standard templates across EMEA that comply with FTI’s policies and local law

Collaborate with members of the Legal, Risk & Compliance Team to develop a best in class team which partners with the business in a timely and effective way to drive profitability, business growth, and success

Work closely with the paralegals and Company Secretarial function to ensure that FTI’s legal and regulatory requirements are fulfilled

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

Qualified solicitor (qualified to practice law in the UK or at least one European jurisdiction).

Suitable for candidates that are newly qualified up to 2/3 years PQE

Commercial law knowledge and practical experience is essential

Must have had experience reviewing, negotiating and drafting basic commercial agreements

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in-house or in a multi-national organisation would be advantageous.

Additional European languages would be beneficial due to our exciting growth across the EMEA region, however it is not a requirement

Company secretarial knowledge would be favorable due to our multiple corporate entities, however it is not essential given this is not a considerable part of this role
