Reporting to the Team Leader Recoveries, you will be responsible for performing recovery tasks to support successful recovery outcomes, managing and actioning correspondence, and processing payments and receipts.

As a skilled and savvy customer service professional you will also negotiate settlements and payment arrangements to achieve the best possible outcomes for RAA and its members.

You will have a fantastic opportunity to utilise your extensive claims knowledge, and experience, to maximise recovery outcomes through effective negotiation and thorough investigation. In addition, you will:

Receive and action phone calls and emails, and escalate any that are outside of your skills or knowledge to Technical Claims Lead and/or Team Leader as required

Determine/calculate the member’s loss and send demands to at fault party

Raise and accept payments required to progress recovery activity

Achieve performance targets including financial outcomes and workload performance

About you

You are a confident and enthusiastic self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a high performing culture. You’re passionate about helping our community (and members) and want to make a difference.

For this role, we’re also looking for:

Experience as a high performing General Insurance Claims Officer

Proven ability to provide excellent quality of work to our members, including critical thinking and problem-solving skills to inform decision-making

Sound mathematical, reasoning and negotiation skills

Sound knowledge of Insurance processes, procedures, and guidelines, together with knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice, Privacy Principles, AFCA Dispute Resolution Process and required legislative requirements arising from relevant Acts

ANZIIF Insurance qualifications (desirable)
