About the role
This is a vital position for Hotel’s present and future in continuing to provide a building that meets the standards expected of every guest that walks through our doors. The role will play a key part in the strategic direction for the leadership team while ensuring that our all staff have the tools and equipment to complete their tasks.
The role is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.The successful candidate will have a can do attitude and be results driven, while having an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to problem solve and adapt.
Key responsibilities :
Ensure maintenance and repairs for all hotel equipment and machinery including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety etc.
Provide regular compliance checks on both the building’s interior and exterior ensuring regulatory, legislation and local council laws are adhered to.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedule including any required safety testing of equipment/machinery.
Ensure hotel property security is regularly reviewed to minimise risk of theft, crime and other hazards.
Oversee the Hotel’s WHS program/committee, undertake regular WHS compliance inspections and perform training to staff where required.
Manage the Building Management System (BMS)
Coordinate with external contractors on projects and maintenance works ensuring high standard of work and timely completion.
Coordinate with equipment suppliers to ensure timely delivery, minimal disruption to guests and minimise expenses.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedule including any required safety testing of equipment/machinery.

Skills & experience
3 to 5 years’ experience as an Engineer or similar Facilities Management positions
Bachelor of Engineering preferred
Fire Safety Advisor/Warden training
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
Experience working with HVAC
Experience within a medium to large Hotel/Hospitality operation preferred but not essential
Demonstrated high-level experience and understand of Australian building regulations, laws, compliance processes and procedures
Experience managing on-site WHS and understanding of regulations
Experience managing relationships with vendors and contractors
Ability to problem solve and adapt to ever evolving situations
Experienceworking in fast paced and high volume operations
Advanced proficiency in software and systems, including advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs
Highly motivated and excellent organisational skills
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships while driving employee engagement and development
Excellent personal presentation and a high level of professionalism
Enthusiasm, friendly nature and goal orientated
Ability to handle high pressure situations and adapt to operations
