Zodiac Skipper - Victoria

Onboard our top of the line of 12 person zodiacs as a skipper, you are both a competent mariner and an entertainer with exceptional customer service skills. Zodiac skippers are responsible for ensuring safe operation and navigational practices while also acting as an engaging tour guide to up to 12 passengers on board. It is expected that a zodiac skipper will introduce passengers to all the west coast has to offer during the tour.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safe operation of the vessel including preparation before tour and shutdown and cleaning after tour
Completing necessary log books
Interacting with passengers as a captain, but also as tour guide and marine naturalist
Minor vessel maintenance as required
Engaging in sustainable marine wildlife viewing practices in compliance with regulations imposed by: WDFW, PWWA, DFO, Transport Canada.
Required certifications and skills:
SVOP, MEDA3/MEDA2/DVSBS/DVS, ROC-M/ROC-MC, Marine Basic First Aid
Commercial operating experience (exceptions for extensive recreational experience)
Knowledge of safe boat handling in all weather conditions
Knowledge of natural hazards to geographical area of operation
Skills and attributes considered valuable assets:
Ability to work within a team
Knowledge of marine wildlife behaviors and patterns
Career goals to pursuing Mate/Master 60T or Mate/Master 150T tickets
