Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS) is the largest provider of public healthcare services across the most northern remote areas of Queensland. TCHHS provides health services to a resident population of 26,966 with 67% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. The range and type of services provided are defined in a formal Service Agreement with the Department of Health. Services are provided across 35 facilities (4 hospitals and 31 primary and community health services) by more than 1000 staff.
The Director of Enterprise Information Management is responsible for governing information assets across the Health Service to improve efficiency, promote transparency and enable business insights to support health care service delivery in Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service.
The role will lead and manage cyber and information security, health information management, records management, enhancing business intelligence, information assets and provide solutions for optimal use of information within TCHHS to support decision-making and day-to-day operations.
This role will focus on instigating a cultural transformation in enterprise information management by fostering collaborations, engaging stakeholders, establishing and maintaining robust enterprise management governance, shaping policies, and implementing sustainable training and education.
This role extends beyond traditional IT functions to encompass comprehensive enterprise information management, with a specific attention to cyber security, health information management and corporate data. This includes overseeing policy formulation, engagement initiatives, and governance activities on behalf of the Executive Leadership.
Collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and corporate leaders, you will optimise digital investments in conjunction with internal and external partners, fostering innovation and efficiency. Your leadership will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the organisation achieves optimal value for its technology investments while advancing its overall mission, safeguarding health information, data quality, and upholding enterprise information integrity and security.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Demonstrated experience in leading enterprise information management portfolios and driving the strategic direction via governance frameworks to achieve safe and quality data that supports decision-making of the business.
Demonstrated experience in providing high level advise on complex ICT program/s, including project management, governance, planning, risk management, advanced reporting, budgeting and project closure and transition, and an ability to manage specialised work packages at a state-wide level or service-wide function.
Proven high level experience in providing advice on data quality and security strategies to manage current and emerging risks and ensure adoption and adherence to enterprise information management standards.
Previous experience in Security operations and vulnerability management and/or implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 27002 – Information security, cybersecurity and privacy protection – Information security controls
Demonstrated high level leadership, management and supervisory experience of technical/professional staff to develop and maintain an effective motivated team resulting in successful outcomes.
Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, presentation and consultation skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and maintain effective relationships with senior and multi-disciplinary staff at the organisational and state levels.
