About the role
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Underground Mining Superintendent will be responsible for the management of people, mine schedule and equipment to ensure a safe and productive operating environment.
It is essential the individual has demonstrated experience with adherence to safe work systems and a proactive attitude towards workplace safety along with extensive operational experience in large, mechanized underground mines.
The position would be well suited to an individual with extensive operational and UG leadership experience or a mining engineer with 7-10 years underground experience.
Duties
Maintain a good understanding of daily operational issues.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production and development targets are met.
Identify and develop plans for operational issues that may have an immediate or long-term effect on mine productivity.
Providing leadership and mentoring.
Ensure the health and safety of all staff involved in underground mining operations in compliance with company standards.
Assume the role of Project Manager in their absence if no Alt Project Manager/Engineer is onsite
Liaise and maintain a good client contractor relationship.
Monitor, appraise and review personnel performance to sustain a capable team.
Ensure and maintain the compliance to mine planning, design, and profile standards.
Management of rosters, absenteeism, and performance of employees.
Skills and Experience
Australian Shift Supervisor's Certificate is desirable.
Two years or more in a similar position
A strong background in running and managing undergroundmining operations.
Ability toapply for a current National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medicalbefore commencing the position.
